A dramatic animation caught your eye. Now you want it on your website. Fair enough, but give that idea a quick interview before you hire it. A design trend should help your business communicate, not become the main obstacle between visitors and your contact form.
Does it help the customer’s task?
Identify the job of the element. It might explain a process, reveal product detail, or make a selection easier. If its only purpose is to show that the website is fashionable, compare that benefit with the space, load time, and attention it requires.
Can people still use the page comfortably?
Test the idea on a phone, with a keyboard, and with reduced-motion preferences. Consider text readability, focus visibility, and what happens when the effect fails to load. Important content should not depend on a visitor discovering an unusual gesture or waiting through a long sequence.
Can you maintain it?
Custom effects may rely on specific plugins, scripts, or design skills. Ask who will update them and whether the content remains editable. Choose a simpler version if it communicates the same thing with fewer dependencies. A maintainable website has a better chance of staying useful.
Your next steps
- Name the customer benefit of the idea.
- Test mobile and keyboard behavior.
- Check the loading and maintenance cost.
- Keep a simpler alternative ready.
