You do not need to arrive with perfect design vocabulary. You do need to explain what your business is trying to achieve. A good project starts with useful questions and a shared understanding of what “finished” means.
Start with a practical brief
Describe your audience, the problem, the deliverables, and the deadline. Share examples with notes explaining what you like about them. “I like how clearly this page explains the service” gives a designer more direction than “make it pop.” Gather existing logos, copy, and access early.
Keep feedback focused
Review the work against the agreed goals. Combine feedback from decision-makers into one clear response and explain the problem you see. If text is difficult to read or a section feels unrelated to your audience, say so directly rather than prescribing random font changes.
Plan the handover
Confirm revisions, file formats, rights, and ongoing support in writing. For websites, know who controls the domain, hosting, licenses, and administrator access. For graphics, request the formats you will actually use and clarify whether editable source files are included.
Your next steps
- Define the audience, goal, and deliverables.
- Choose one person to consolidate feedback.
- Supply content and assets on schedule.
- Confirm final files, ownership, and support.
